Five novelties awarded with the ISU Award

Sifting commission meets in Boskoop

Ten growers or companies sent in a total of 51 novelties from 27 genera for ISU screening. The trial field was maintained by the Koninklijke Vereniging van Boskoopse Culturen (KVBC) in Boskoop and pre-evaluated over the year by team led by Ronald Houtman. The Swedish chairman of the ISU judging committee, Jonas Bengtsson, highly praised the condition of the plants and the preparation of the records.
The internationally composed jury awarded five prizes, the 40 expert participants of the ISU Summer Days 2022 also chose one of the five awarded novelties as the public's favorite before the official award ceremony.
The current sighting results of the perennial sighting coordinated in Germany were presented by Prof. Dr. Bernd Hertle, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences: the genera Monarda, Phlox and Lythrum, they can be looked up at www.staudensichtung.de. Sites in Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic are also participating in the international exchange. The true-to-type assortments are then returned to horticultural practice. The head of the German perennial screening working group also reported on the species-rich and insect-friendly perennial mixtures as well as mixtures of perennials and woody plants.
